Sorry I was a little late on writing the blog. As always, I had a little trouble connecting to the internet. It's Monday afternoon after a hearty lunch of beans and rice (the primary food of the Dominican people) topped with chips and salsa. A.m. service Mmmm... Mmmm Good! You'll hear tomorrow from Gary Sargent about today's events. Let me fill you in on what happened yesterday.
We woke up and ate some cereal. We headed out about 9:30 a.m. to catch the 10:00 service at Monte Cristy - a Batey (village) about half an hour away. This is the village we worked with primarily last year where Pastor Gerardo is along with the old folk's home. We had a great time and an awesome service. He asked me to preach but I preached last year and we all wanted to hear pastor preach.
We enjoyed beautiful singing and a performance by the children of the church. They even let us sing a song for them. After that, Pastor preached a great message out of the book of Matthew.
When service was over, we toured the old folks home and talked to the residents a little. Some of them remembered us - especially the one Haitian lady who is over 100 years old. The old folk's home is doing better and they are very appreciative of the support we send monthly. We'll show you more pictures and video tomorrow.
Attached is a short video.
We miss you all. God Bless You. Please continue to pray for us!

P.S. One item of note - Jay Burson (former OSU Basketball great) was here when we arrived. He is athletic director at a Christian school in Florida and brought a team with him. Forgot to get my picture with him though!
