I just finished the REGAINING BALANCE by Randy Sawyer – the 91 day devotional we did as a church. Today is the 91st day and it was
AWESOME! It has helped me so much. So often, our focus gets redirected and God is put in the backseat (or trunk) of our lives. It’s not until we devote ourselves to His word that we realize how empty of HIM we truly are.
My favorites were the many that referenced God’s mercy and longsuffering. I have said before that I appreciate God’s longsuffering more than any other attribute. I guess I mess up so much I need a God who has big shoulders and not overlook my sin but be patient with me until I come to my senses. I also enjoyed the devotionals on worship. It has become very clear to me that worship is not just a song but a way of life – a daily practice. He demands it and we should be honored and ecstatic to oblige.
Now that we have finished the devotional, the theme of renewal has been on my mind. Unless the Lord directs otherwise, we will be having “A Month Of Renewal” in May that will be embraced by all Hillview ministries. It’s similar to the term “revival” which I’m sure most of you are familiar with. Be praying for this period of time as we as a church cry out to God for a spiritual renewal.
I hope you all participated in this devotional. If you didn’t or got behind, dive in and finish. Consistancy is so important to our faith. I promise you won’t regret it.
