This truly moved me...enough that I have returned an email to you to let you know so...and enough that I have forwarded that same message back to myself so that I can view it daily and remember to remember the Revival in my prayer time.

Thank you for caring so much about your flock to encourage us...NO! Scratch that...to URGE us to pray as God has not only pleaded of us...but begged us to do because of His desire for true relationship with each and every one of us.

Blessings to you,

We were on our way to our Church meeting at Blacklick Park, Reynoldsburg,Columbus, Ohio when our car broke down and I had to make it to the Hillview Church park lot. The first person that approached us wanting to know if we needed help was Pastor Bill Hayes. He helped to jump start the Honda Odyssey which responded a while but went off. Several members of the Church came to see what they could do while Pastor Bill called a Technician to come over and assist. We discovered that the Honda 1999 model Alternator was bad and needed a replacement. I gave a call to a brother in our own Church who came to pick me and another brother came to pick my family while we went to get a new Alternator. Unfortunately, when we came back, the Technician had left for home and a call put through to him went into his Voice Mail. I had already dispatched the brother that brought me as he needed to drop his family at home off Cleveland Avenue before going to work. I do not have a have phone yet. As I was wondering what to do next, Pastor Bill came by and wanted to know how far with my arrangement. He also put a call to the Technician who could not be reached. He left promising to get to the Technician through the parents. Pastor Bill came about 10minutes later changing into casual wears and announcing his clothes were wet because the Church just had a baptism that aftenoon. He told me we would have to fix the Alternator ourselves. He was with another young man, Brian (hope I got the name right). We started work on the removal of the Altenator and replacing it with the new one. It was already raining. In it we completed the work on the car, jumped start it and alas, it was on and alife again. The rain was becoming heavy. Pastor Bill said, 'Go into the car, and go and collect your money from Autozone for the recycling of the Alternator.' Where I come from, Lagos, Nigeria you don't fix your car yourself that way, especially replacing a Alternator. The mechanics fix it for you and you pay real big for it. So for me, it is a very big and an overwhelming deal doing it with Pastor Bill. To imagine a Pastor of a large Church, a parent and a grand parent, going to such a length to help is very humbling. He was an angel sent to us by God. I actually drove from Wallcrest, Off Cleveland Avenue to Reynoldsburg, a distance of over 30minutes. We are just three months in Columbus and missed our way with over six miles when we had the problem with the car. Everything that happened God knew and he used Pastor Bill to strenghten our own faith in is LOVE and we have resolved to be more giving and sacrificial, to the glory of His name.

re: "I'll Pray For You"

Hmmm...more organized prayer is one of my goals (resolutions -- I hate that word) for the year. I know it will help me to jot it down. I heard somebody say along time ago...why do we ask each other "how are you doing" when we're really just saying it in passing and don't care about the answer. Those words stung coming out of my mouth for a long time...I stopped just asking it in passing. I hope the same thing happens when I say I'll pray for you. One of the ohter things I've been thinking about in my goals of organized prayer is to let people know I've been praying for them. I know how much it uplifts me when I know that people are praying for me...it's empowering!
